Taylor Hawkins Bio

Taylor Hawkins was born on February 17, 1972 in Fort Worth, Texas. Not only is Taylor Hawkins is an amazing drummer but also a talented pianist guitarist and vocalist. Taylor’s musical training and lessons is still a mystery among much of the media’s knowledge. Taylor hit off a few large tour gig’s before settling on his current position as Foo Fighters’ drummer. Taylor’s previous involvement as Alanis Morissette’s dummer on the Jagged Little Pill tour made him a well know drummer to the drumming community. Later on, because of Taylor’s evolvement with Alanis Morissette and the band, Sylvia; Foo Fighters’ contacted Taylor after their original drummer, William Goldsmith, left them. Hawkins has a few drumming influences from The Polices, Stewart Copeland and Roger Taylor of Queen. Taylor also worked as a salesman at the Guitar Center in California.

At the present moment, Taylor remains truthful to Foo Fighters along with his DW, Yamaha and Tama drum equipment. As well, Taylor has his own signature sticks called ‘Taylor Hawkins Signature Sticks’ which he uses all the time. Taylor can be found in the studio with his band mates, singing and playing guitar. He has sung lead vocals in Foo Fighters’ song “Cold day in the sun.”
