Mike Michalkow Bio

Mike Michalkow was born in Mike Michalkow was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mike started playing the drums at the late age of 17. He originally trained under the direction of Mitch Dorge (Crash Test Dummies), and later he received instruction from John Fisher, Jim Chapin, Chuck Silverman, Peter Magadini, Virgil Donati, and Dom Famularo. Mike now has his own music studio in Vancouver, BC and is spending more time creating instructional products and playing with local bands.

Mike Michalkow is currently endorsed by Yamaha Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Vic Firth Drumsticks, and Hansen Futz Practice Pedals. Mike has released a solo album “To The Extreme” which showcases all of the features of the Yamaha DTXtreme Electronic Drumset. Mike has also released a book “Building A Foundation For The Modern Drummer”, and DVD-set titled “Moeller Method Secrets”.
